W8. B3.

Today I was reading "A Childs Garden of Verses" and I came across one of my all time favorite poems. Growing up our house was next too two lakes and on pretty days my mom and I would walk to the lakes each with a book and would sit around the lake and read and some days we would take Austin, my puppy with us. My most vivid memory of going to the lakes with my mom is me sitting on her lap and her quoting this poem to me. I know that one day I will quote this poem to my daughter and perhaps even read it to her from this book. The poem is, "The Swing" and it goes like this:

The Swing

How would you like to go up in a swing,
up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do believe it is the pleasantest thing
ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
till I can see so wide,
Rivers and tress and castle and all
over the countryside-

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown-
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
